BELIZE SUGAR CANE FARMERS ASSOCIATION FORCED TO POSTPONE MEETING Apr 16, 2012

Arturo Cantun reporting…

“The Belize Sugar Cane Farmers Association was set to meet yesterday in San Roman Village Corozal but due to a shortfall in attendance the meeting was not held.  This morning we spoke with Ramon Aban, chairman of the BSCFA who told us that for a meeting to be held they need a minimum of twelve branches to be represented in order to have a quorum.  Yesterday only eight branches were present out of a total of 18.  Aban said that the main topic on the agenda that was to be discussed was the court order for the BSCFA to pay David Madrid for wrongfully terminating him back in 2010.  Since there was a poor attendance, the meeting will be held at a more convenient date for its members to attend.  Aban told us that the meeting needs to be held as soon as possible as important matters need to be addressed.”
