HOME INVASION IN DANGRIGA
Apr 17, 2012
Two women in Dangriga town were assaulted over the weekend during an armed home invasion. Shari Joseph, who owns and operates an Internet Café on Sharp Street in Dangriga town, is one of the victims of the terrifying incident. And she told her story to Love FM’s Patrick Jones via telephone this morning.
Shari Joseph – Victim
“Saturday night around 9 o’clock we were at our family business doing assignment, my friend and I, when two guys came in with their face covered to their nose with their shirt. The one in the front came in with a revolver and told us nobody moved and he pointed the gun at us. We had a HP laptop, a kindle and my cell phone. He closed the laptop and the kindle and he pointed the gun at us and asked for money. It told him we did not have any. He said how do you mean there is no money. I had my purse on the center table and I told him to take the purse and he took the purse and then asked for money again. I told him to look in the suitcase and he went to the suitcase and since he had the gun in his right hand and had to use his left hand to open the suitcase, his shirt fell down and then I was able to see his face so he took my purse containing my identification cards and then they left. It was the first time seeing the guy but Sunday after describing the person the Police had already figured that it could have been this guy and someone who was driving around saw him Sunday came to pick me up and drove by and asked if it was him and I told him yes it was him. We went to the police station and the police came and picked him up.”
Joseph says that none of the stolen items have been recovered. Police in Dangriga have not yet released any information on this incident. Anyone with information that can assist Shari Joseph in recovering her stolen items and the police in apprehending the robbers is asked to call the Dangriga police station or the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 0-800-922-8477.
