Tuesday, April 17 - ORANGE WALK CANCER SUPPORT GROUP CELEBRATES FOURTH BIRTHDAY Apr 17, 2012

The Orange Walk Cancer Support group has been providing much needed support for patients over the last few years.

Arturo Cantun reporting...

“Today the Orange Walk Cancer Support Group is celebrating its fourth anniversary.  President of the group, Badra Coleman told us the group started when a nurse sought the assistance of Orange Walk residents to render support to those living with cancer. Since its founding the group says they have assisted at least seventy five cancer patients.  Coleman told us the assistance offered includes medical, financial and most of all emotional support.  The group has thirty volunteer members but Coleman says it’s still not enough for the work that needs to be done, especially when finances are short coming. To commemorate their fourth anniversary, the Orange Walk Cancer Support Group has organized a walk and a health fair for this Saturday.  Group member, Joaquin Dominguez says they are also having a raffle with twenty prices and it sells for only two dollars.  Likewise, in an effort to raise funds the group is selling t-shirts for $15.  Coleman said she hopes more people will join to assist those living with cancer. Those who need of the Orange Walk Cancer Support Group can contact Badra Coleman at 605-8633 or visit #2 Belize Street Orange Walk Town.  Congratulations to the Orange Walk Cancer Support Group.
