“The donation of medical supplies was timely as the items would be very helpful to medical patient in Toledo who are in need of what was donated. The assortments of small medical supplies from three donors were brought to Punta Gorda from the U.S.A. by Kenneth Mahung.
KENNETH MAHUNG, Donator
“I brought in the medical supplies from Chicago where I live with my wife Laura Mahung. With her help and a friend of ours who live in Hawaii, her name is Jackie Lee, we decided that we’ll find a way to help individuals in Belize but specifically Punta Gorda because this is where I was born, my family roots are in Punta Gorda. So as we did a search we found out that the Hillside Clinic needed medical supplies. In contacting them I found out what kind of supplies they needed. We started to buy the supplies when they would go on sale. For example some supplies we brought include Tylenol, Tums, Nyquil and a lot of helpful things that we hope will be beneficial to the families here in Punta Gorda. I contacted the clinic on Friday and then I found out that they were closing early because they had an event in Placencia. So we made an arrangement for me to deliver the supplies to Mrs. Celia Mahung, the Executive Director of TIDE, over the weekend and she will deliver the supplies to the clinic at a later date.

“As planned, the items were handed over by TIDE’s Executive Director, Celia Mahung, to Hillside Healthcare Center’s Administrator Joycelyn Hynes Lopez and Pharmacy Technician, Althea Pau. Administrator Lopez on behalf of the Hill Side Health care Center expressed words of gratitude.”
JOYCELYN LOPEZ, Administrator
“On behalf of Hill Side staff and volunteers here in Belize we want to express our sincere thanks to Mr. Kenneth Mahung for his donation of medical supplies and medication to us because at Hill Side we rely a lot on donations because all the services that we provide are all free of charge to the Belizean public and we are a non-profit organization as well so we don’t collect any kind of revenue so we always welcome donations. It will be put to good use because we have many of our Belizean people who come to the Eldridgeville Clinic here t Hill Side that is being held five days a week and we also take out our medication, so mobile health clinics that are being held in several remote villages of the Toledo District.”
PAUL MAHUNG, Reporter
“Hill Side Health Care Center located some five miles out Punta Gorda in Eldridgeville has over the years become a major medical facility in Toledo which offers professional medical services as its main clinic center as well as helpful and needed mobile medical services to many Toledo Rural communities.
