PARTICIPANTS AND SUPPORTERS COMPLETE THE WALK ACROSS BELIZE

The walk across Belize fund-raising initiative undertaken by fourteen year old Rowan Garel has been completed. Garel and a group of his supporters and other Belizeans, walked the final leg of the journey from Hattieville village to Belize City early this morning, ending at the offices of the Belize Council for the Visually Impaired on Princess Margaret Drive. Garel in a telephone interview late this morning, told Love News that he is relieved and happy that the walk has been successfully completed.

“It went really well, we had people contributing and showing their support. Not many people did the whole walk but there were quite a few people that did a section of it and joined us.”

“Yes Rowan, how much money you raised during the walk?”

“We haven’t gotten a total as yet.”

“How do you feel having completed this walk?”

“I feel really glad, am glad that it’s over but there is a sense of triumph.”
Garrell says he not sure what is his next big project; but if looking forward to summer camp, which starts on Tuesday.

“We’re not quite sure yet, we’re just thinking of stuff. We’re not doing it because we are trying to outdo ourselves or competing with my body or anything like that we’re doing it as a fund raiser.”

“When does camp starts, do you know?”

“It starts tomorrow.”
The walk across Belize began on Thursday of last week in Benque Viejo del Carmen.
