There was another shooting on Thursday night and the area where it happened is besieged with this type of crime. Flamboyant Street in the Lake Independence area, where an apartment complex once stood, was the scene of Thursday night’s shooting that has left a youth hospitalized. What makes the situation worse is that the shooting resulted from a social gathering among friends. Love News understands that sometime after eight last evening, a group of people were gathered on the court where the apartment complex once stood, and a discussion among youths in the area turned into an argument between the victim, 25-year-old Austin Rowland, and the shooter. The exchange of harsh words ended when the alleged shooter left, vowing that he would return, and within minutes he did. That was when he produced a firearm and began firing shots at the person with whom he had had the arguments only moments before. One of the bullets hit the target, Austin Rowland, in the left leg and Rowland is now in the surgical ward at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a stable condition. Rowland has since declined speaking to the media, but Love News has gathered that before the shooter left, he threatened the gathering that if anyone identified him, that person would die. The court where the incident happened has seen at least four shootings, including two murders, over the past four years. Last year, during another shooting, one of the bullets penetrated the wall of one of the residents and fell in a chair from where she had just been sitting minutes before.
