“Patriotic first place in the junior division – Tara Gill with her song, Belize Da Mi Country; second place went to Marieli Pop who won with the song, Tranquil Haven, Belize.  In the senior patriotic category, ---Parks won first place with the song, Celebrate Belize; second place went to Elsworth Castillo with the song, This is Belize – his song was song on behalf of his brother, Leroy Bass Castillo who wrote the song before he died.  Third place went to Patrick McPherson, who won with his song, A Song That We Sing.  In the Carnival Senior Category, first place went to Sharon Martinez’ Freedom; second place went to Ivan Chiac Burgess who won with the song, Wave The Flag and third place went to Gilbert ‘ Mr. Program’ Alamilla who took home third place with his song, his Carnival Anthem, Everybody Dance.  Now the songs are going to continue being played on the radio just as they did in the beginning of the competition.   However, we are paying close attention now to the Senior Carnival Song Category because on the night of the Carnival we are going to take the Carnival Road March Song of the year and this is the song that is the most used by the DJs of the Carnival Groups and we are going to crown that winner on the night of Carnival and that winner walks away with a trophy and a thousand dollars and so we are looking now to hear on the airwaves, which Carnival song is the most played for this particular category.”
