Aug 31, 2012
Twenty-five year old Calaney Flowers, a proof teller at Atlantic Bank who allegedly knocked down her ex-boyfriend and his lover, was charged with murder and attempted murder when she appeared in court today. Flowers, who resides on Lavender Street, was also charged with dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm. No plea was taken because the offences are indictable. Neither could the court offer her bail because of the nature of the offences. She was remanded into custody until October 2. The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28. Police reports are that 29 year old Lyndon Morrison was riding his motorcycle with his girlfriend, Sochyl Sosa on the pillion on Freetown Road when a red Saturn car, allegedly driven by Flowers, struck the motorcycle from behind and caused them to be thrown from it. Morrison received injuries to the back of his head and left eye and he died later at KHMH while receiving treatment. Sochyl received abrasions to both her hands and she got a cut to her head. Sochyl was admitted to ward at KHMH where her condition is reported to be stable.
