“A shooting incident was reported last night on Liberty Avenue in Orange Walk Town around 8:50. Sources tell us that five Hispanic men ambushed one James Pelayo of Orange Walk Town and fired several shots at him wounded him to the left side of the chest. Pelayo tried fleeing from his attackers by riding his bicycle but he collapsed on Mopan Street. He was transported to the NRH where he received treatment for his injuries. Sources tell Love News that when Police got to the scene of the shooting, no one was in the area and no expended shell was recovered. We understand that Pelayo walked out of the NRH this morning after receiving treatment and indicated that he doesn’t wish to press legal charges. It is believed that the shooting is as a result of rivalry between LA Boys Gang and the Back-A-Town Gang. In other news, reliable sources indicate that a Belizean lost his life over at the Mexican side as a result of a chopped wound. The Belizean has been identified as Felix Carrasco Jimenez. The incident occurred in the community of Ruby Rosa in the early hours of Saturday, September first in front of Bar Solo when Jimenez tried collecting Rojelio Ilario Chi, money owed to him. It is understood that Jimenez was on other business but when he saw Chi he approached him and asked him to pay what he owe to him for food; Chi refused to pay and when Jimenez was exiting the establishment, Chi ambushed him and inflicted several chop wounds, one which severed off Jimenez’ left arm. Jimenez tried fleeing on his motorcycle but because of excess bleeding, he collapsed and died on the spot. Chi was in the company of one, Maxi San Juan who tried fleeing from the scene but residents caught them and intended to lynch them. Fortunately Mexican Police arrived just in time to detain both Chi and San Juan who now await for charges to be levied against them.”
