“Well we are very excited that more and more people are letting us know what projects they will be undertaking. We have gotten word from BNE and they will be going into the Buena Vista School where they will be doing a total overhaul in the area where the children have lunch; they will be providing garbage drums, they will be providing tables and will do a cleanup and they will be providing books for their resource centre. We have a whole list that will be done by the different committees of the PUP countrywide; that goes from cleanup campaigns, power washing of community centres, beaches and projects; planting of fruit trees. Here in Belmopan there will be a lot of activities as well. We have heard, just recently from the new initiative of the Environmental Club of the University that will be doing cleanup as well; the Belmopan Active Youths, the City Councilors, the Lions Club, the Rotary Club – so there will be a lot activities that will be taking place on Wednesday.”
On National Service Day all Belizeans are invited to carry out a community service activity in memory of the Rt. Hon. George Price who passed away on September 19 of last year. National Service day is not a public and bank holiday.
