CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH MEXICO

The Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry today announced that it has forged a partnership agreement with the National Chamber of Commerce, Tourism and Service of Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico. An official release from the Chamber of Commerce says that the new alliance will now be referred to as the Chamber of Commerce of Othon P. Blanco and Belize.  The release says that the inter-institutional agreement is to promote trade, economic and development cooperation between Belize and Quintana Roo.  The joint Chamber will be led by a rotating presidency that will alternate each year.  Belize will take up the first year of the presidency.  Signing the agreement on behalf of the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry was its president Amparo Masson while the president of the National Chamber of Commerce, Tourism and Services of Chetumal Luis Javier Ortiz Cardin signed on behalf of his organization.  The signing was witnessed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Wilfred Elrington and the Governor of Quintana Roo, Felix Arturo Gonzalez Canto.
