MAJOR CHANGES TO TAKE PLACE AT BTB

Yesterday, Executive Director of the Belize Tourism Board Tracy Panton and Director of Finance Even Tillett were informed that when their contracts which expire at the end of the year will not be renewed. Panton has held the post of Executive Director for over ten years yet no reason for the non-renewal of her contract has been specified. Attempts to get a comment of Panton were unsuccessful but she sent an e-mail acknowledging the Board’s decision and expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Government and people of Belize. Panton also thanked her industry partners for their friendship during her tenure and said that she is ready to assist the board with a smooth transition. In closing Panton said that her 12 years of service has given her the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. Panton and Tillett are both expected to proceed on vacation immediately which will carry them through the end of their contract on December thirty-first.
