One of America’s most wanted man, Robert Snyder also known as Augustin Rios was today deported to the United States. Snyder was apprehended last week after he was featured on the television series, America’s Most Wanted. Robert Snyder was arrested in the U-S in September 2005 and under an agreement with prosecutors he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of unlawful sexual conduct. He agreed to a two year prison which he began serving in 2007. He was released on August 24, 2008 and was supposed to register as a sex offender and meet with his probation officer. Snyder reportedly left the U-S and eventually made his way to Belize. Snyder now faces another decade behind bars. In related news, The Belize National Youth Chess Foundation issued a release clarifying its position regarding Snyder. The Belize National Youth Chess Foundation in its release said that Robert Snyder, who was living in Belize under the name Augustine Rios, was in no way affiliated with the Foundation. The Foundation release says that Rios had made attempts to work with the Foundation last year, but he was refused that opportunity because, quote: “his agenda was obviously very different from BNYCF,” end of quote. The official release goes on to say that Rios was trying to charge for chess lessons, and that BNYCF is totally a volunteer foundation and that his credentials could not be verified. BNYCF ended its press release by assuring parents that the Foundation takes safety and security of the children it is involved with as top priority and that officials of the Foundation will continue to be on vigilant guard at all times in efforts to protect children from any hard. The Belize National Youth Chess Foundation reiterates that Robert Snyder, also known as Augustin Rios had no relationship with the organization in neither a paid nor volunteer capacity.
