OPEC REPRESENTATIVE MAKES TWO DAY TO BELIZE

An OPEC consultant is in Belize on a two day visit to strengthen OPEC’s alliance with a number of Organizations in the Toledo District. President of the Toledo Association of Businesses is Darius Avila.

“The Toledo Association of Businesses and Punta Gorda Sister City Committee in collaboration with the Minister of Human Development and Social Transformation, the Mayor and Town Council of Punta Gorda Town and the Toledo Development Cooperation are hosting Dr. Cynthia Kaminski. Kaminski is a consultant who works closely with overseas private investment cooperation, OPEC, of the United States. OPEC is a US Government Organization that among other things provides financing for investments outside of the United States. Dr. Kaminski’s visit is in line with the Toledo Association of Businesses strategic objective of engaging strategic partnerships and alliances. Dr. Kaminski’s visit is also primarily to meet with Toledo based investors and businesses to make presentations on OPEC particularly regarding the process involved in accessing funds for local initiatives. A workshop was held this morning at the Punta Gorda Town Council to start the process. Doctor Ludwig Palacio is the main coordinator of the collaboration effort.”

According to Vice President Doctor Ludwig Palacio the visit will expand their networking abilities.

“The fact that Dr. Kaminski is here and delivered a presentation on how to access funding through OPEC I think is wonderful opportunity for the business community of Toledo. I also believe that the different organizations that have come together to make this possible including the Government of Belize and all the different entities that engaged to make this a reality is quite significant.”

A session was held this afternoon at two o’clock at Sea Front Inn to allow members of the Toledo Association of Businesses to present business proposals. The consultant will be leaving on Saturday.
