FORMER JOURNALIST AND CAREER PUBLIC OFFICER RUDOLPH CASTILLO DIES

Belize’s first High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Canada, His Excellency Rudolph Castillo has died. Castillo served in the public service for over forty years in various posts including Permanent Secretary and Cabinet Secretary.  As Chief Information Officer he published several booklets including “How we are governed”, “the PUP Government and the Guatemalan claim”, “Belizean poets” book one and two. Rudy Castillo was also a correspondent for Rueters News Agency, the Caribbean News Agency and the London Daily Telegraph. He also worked as consultant to the National Geographic Magazine.  In 2002 Castillo wrote a book, a personal profile on the life of Right Honourable George Cadle Price.  An official funeral service for the late Ambassador Castillo will be held on Monday March 22 at two o’clock in the afternoon at our Lady of Guadalupe Co-Cathedral in Belmopan.
