THREE PEOPLE ARRESTED AND CHARGED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

San Ignacio Police have arrested and charged three people for drug trafficking. Police say sometime after one o’clock this afternoon they intercepted a green Cherokee on the Benque Viejo Road. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a sack containing 12 pounds of marijuana. Traveling in the vehicle at the time were, 24 year Nelson Garbutt of Roaring Creek Village, 20 year old Nuri Thomas of Belmopan and 22 year Kendis Diego of a Jane Usher Boulevard address in Belize City. The three were subsequently arrested and jointly charged with the offence of drug trafficking.
