The Belize City Magistrate Courts will be moving to its new location at the public building. The move began yesterday and is expected to be completed by next Tuesday. The cases before the court will be adjourned until Monday September 4, 2006. All persons who have cases before the court must check for their adjournment dates at the new location. The previous Magistrates Court which was housed at the Paslow building was destroyed by fire on September 29, 2002. The Family Court which is housed upstairs of the Commercial Center will also be moving to the public building. ----------------------------- Ralton Moody of a Mahogany Street address appeared before Magistrate Margaret Gabb yesterday where he was arraigned for an allegation of robbery and harm. Moody pleaded not guilty was granted bail in the sum of four thousand dollars after which the matter was adjourned to October 3, 2006. The victim Norrett Broaster reported to police that on August 8, 2006 when she arrived at her home on Black Orchid Street she found Moody her ex-boyfriend on the top step of her house. An altercation began between both of them. Moody pulled off her gold chain and a gold bracelet. Broaster said Moody grabbed her and tried to choke her. The struggle continued until she managed to defend herself with a pen knife that she had on her bunch of keys. She inflicted a wound to Moody’s hand and went inside her house. Moody then left the area with her chain and bracelet. Broaster was taken to KHMH where the doctor classified her injuries as harm. ------------------------------ Belize City Police are investigating a report of a robbery. 27 year old Rennick Reneau, employee of Belize Times Press told Police that sometime around 8am on Wednesday, he was waking to work when he was attacked near the Swing Bridge by two men. Reneau told police that the men threw him to the ground and stole nine hundred and ninety eight dollars that was the property of the Belize Times Press. Reneau says he did not see who the men were. Police are investigating. ----------------------------- 35 year old Carlos Howard a security guard of Sandhill Village yesterday appeared before Magistrate Margaret Gabb where he was charged for burglary and handling stolen goods. Howard pleaded not guilty to both charges. Howard was granted bail in the sum of three thousand dollars and the matter was adjourned to October 3, 2006. Mariela Alvarado reported to police that her home situated at Maxboro was burglarized on Thursday August 17, 2006. She stated she left her brother Andres Alvarado at home and when she returned she discovered her home burglarized. She questioned her brother then called the police. The items that went missing from the house amounted to a total value of 521 dollars. The police conducted an investigation and most of the items were recovered from Howard.
