Over years the Independence Day parade in Orange Walk Town has become more of a carnival parade. Orange Walk Mayor, Ravell Gonzalez says this year people can expect to see an event as grand as those of previous years. Ravell Gonzalez: Orange Walk Mayor “Traditionally the parade for the twenty first ha been a grand thing for Orange Walk, this year we don’t want to disappoint so we are having Policias Federal Marching Band coming in from Chetumal we have three carnival groups from Belize City coming we also have a Guatemalan Marching Band and Blue house Marching Band plus a hundred members which one of the major attraction for the September Celebrations and parade. We have the different schools we have the different floats, local floats and we are suppose to have one or two floats coming in from Belize City.” Ravell Gonzalez, Orange Walk Mayor. Gonzalez says a float competition will also be taking place during the parade. Following the parade a block party featuring performances from four musical bands will take place at the Central Park. Gonzalez says Orangewalkenos can also expect to see a spectacular fireworks display on the twentieth night.
