Belize City Police have charged two men who they say were positively identified as being two of four men who robbed at least two people on Tuesday. One of the complainants told Police that he was selling tortillas from his pickup truck on Mayflower Street when a man he recognized stopped him to make a purchase. The tortilla vendor said that as he was about to take out the tortilla from an ice box, the man put a chrome gun to his head. Just then, four others ran toward the vehicle and dragged out the man and took him upstairs a white cement house, where he said the gunman pointed the gun at him while the other thieves held him down and searched his pockets, taking away his wallet that contained one thousand 150 dollars in cash and a wrist watch and cellular phone.The two men that Police have charged are 33 year-old Sherlock Martinez and 24 year-old Denroy Domingo, both of Lakeview Street, Belize City. Both men have been charged with robbery. Police are looking for two other suspects.

Police have also rearrested Martinez and Domingo in connection with another robbery. A second complainant has identified both men as two of four culprits who robbed him of knifepoint inside a house on Mayflower Street on Tuesday afternoon. 36year old Ronald Cayetano of Orange Walk Town told Police that around two o clock on Tuesday afternoon he was at a Chinese shop on Vernon Street when a dark skinned man he recognized asked him for two dollars, which he gave to him. Cayetano said the man then offered to sell him a watch, telling him that he had it at his house on Mayflower Street. Cayetano said he accompanied the man to the house where there were three others whom he knew. He said that one of them held a knife to his left side while the others searched him and stole 254 dollars after which they ran off. Martinez and Domingo have been charged with another robbery offense in connection with the incident. Meanwhile, Police say they are investigating whether Sherlock Martinez and Denroy Domingo were also responsible for other robberies in the area. They are also looking for two other suspects for the robbery upon Cayetano.
