BTIA PREPARING TO HOLD 21ST ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Belize Tourism Association, B-T-I-A is preparing to hold its 21st annual general meeting. The meeting and election of officers is scheduled to take place on November 16. B-T-I-A’s Marketing Officer, Efrain Perez says the A-G-M will feature two days of activities.

Efrain Perez:

“On November 15 we are going to be having our securities seminar “Living Without Fear – A dynamic approach in a revolving world.” This Securities seminar will cover four areas of security. The first presentation will be facilitated by Protection Technology which are internationally recognize Israeli Securities Experts and they will be talking about the power of broad base approach against criminal intention and setting up your own security bars without using guns. The seminar will also include presentations by regional tourism police experts from Honduras utilizing their expertise in combating crime and reacting to crisis situation. The Belize Disaster Rescue Response Team will teach the audience about managing emergencies and accessing risk and a special session with Belize Police Force will also allow on follow up on current crime situations in Belize and what the Belize Police are doing to protect us.

Efrain Perez, Marketing Officer at the B-T-I-A. Perez says the security seminar is as a result of crimes that affected the industry but will look at ways in which to minimize crimes in tourism and in the communities. The 2007 Destination Belize Magazine will also be introduced at the A-G-M.  B-T-I-A’s Annual General Meeting will take place at the Best Western Belize Biltmore Plaza beginning at nine o’clock in the morning.
