BELIZEAN POET TO RELEASE LATEST WORKS TOMORROW

Journalist Adele Ramos Daly will this weekend release two compact discs featuring a wide range of her poetry. Ramos Daly stopped by our studios to tell us more about the CDs.

Adele Ramos Daly:

“I have my first CD called red graffiti and that a CD that features dub poetry and music and that CD really includes a wide range of pieces that talk about things like love, pedophilia, corruption a whole host of issues. The second CD also very versatile but what is different about that CD is that it’s a raw poetry CD so you get to hear the raw voice. So you get to hear the emotion in the voice the expression that can be lost when you do poetry against the music. And so they are two very different CDs speaking about a range of issues and it’s actually my way of really demonstrating what you could do with poetry.”

Ramos Daly says poetry lovers will find something on the CD’s that appeal to their own personal experiences.

Adele Ramos Daly:

“There is something for the young and the old. Actually the red graffiti CD features my nephew and my daughter. They did the introduction to it because you know it’s something that affects a lot of young people these days and I think that young people have to be conscious and aware of that issue that their innocents could be stolen in an instant if they are not guarded. So that’s why I did that piece.”

Adele Ramos Daly:

“Everybody, Black Orchid Raw, Black Orchid is my stage name. that is targeted at people who are fans of poetry and the red graffiti is for those who are in to poetry and music and who are interested in hearing a different style because I don’t think that nobody has ever produced something like this in Belize marrying poetry with music. You hear poets sing and poets recite poetry but I have never seen a product like this where it’s really intertwine, it’s blended as one.”
