OFFFICIALS FROM THE UNITED KINGDOM TO VISIT BELIZE LATER THIS WEEK

A team of officials from the United Kingdom Office of the Department for International Development, D-FID will begin an official visit to the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre in Belmopan later this week.The team led by Richard Beales, Senior Natural Resources and Environment Adviser in D-FID’s overseas territories department will hold discussions with the Executive Director of the Centre Doctor Kenrick Leslie and his technical team.They will finalize a proposal aimed at offering the British Overseas Territories of Montserrat, Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands and Anguilla the opportunity to participate in regional climate change capacity building activities now being executed in CARICOM countries under the management of the Climate Change Centre.The D-FID initiative is expected to provide support for the participation of the Overseas Territories in activities under the umbrella of the ongoing regional mainstreaming of adaptation to climate change project being implemented in CARICOM countries.
