MARGARET GABB MCKENZIE APPOINTED CHIEF MAGISTRATE

Margaret Gabb McKenzie is Belize’s new Chief Magistrate. 52 year old Gabb McKenzie began her career in the civil service in 1989. She worked in the Magistracy as a summons clerk and worked her way up to becoming Assistant Clerk of courts. She was appointed a Magistrate in 1994. She has a certificate in paralegal studies, a bachelor in law, with honors from the University of the West Indies. In 2001 she received a Certificate in Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School in Jamaica.
