January 24, 2007

First Caribbean Bank has been donating funds and manpower towards different humanitarian causes in all the territories in which it operates in the Caribbean. Belize has been a part of the programme called “Adopt a Cause” since 2005, as First Caribbean Bank’s Corporate Director’s Assistant in Belize Irene Hernandez shares.

Irene Hernandez: Corporate Director’s Assistant

“the amount donate per branch is two thousand Belize and the staff in the individual branches seek out different causes that we feel we would like to donate to people who are in need and maybe give a face lift to a building or donate needed items to a programme etc. it has been running since 2005 so we find that the branches throughout the country we have touched several communities several causes all around. We run probably five or six different projects throughout the year; most branches also do fund raising from staff effort to increase that amount and add on to it so that we are able to do a bigger project.”

Hernandez highlights some of the works that the bank has done already under the programme.
