Cabinet has agreed for Belize to become a member of the Center of Coordination for the prevention of natural disaster in Central America. This will allow the National Emergency management Organization to act as a formal bridge between the Central American and Caribbean Organizations that are responsible for emergency management in both regions. Membership in this organization will allow Belize to benefit from the various programmes and projects that the Central American nations enjoy in hazard risk management and development planning.

Cabinet has directed the Ministry of Education to investigate cases where students are denied the issuance of report cards and even access to school for non payment of fees.Cabinet will meet in a special session next Monday for a preliminary discussion of the budget for fiscal year 2007-2008.
