The Young Meteorologist Competition concluded today in Belmopan. Senior Hydrologist at the National Meteorological Service, Rudolph Williams gives us the outcome of the competition. Rudolph Williams: Senior Hydrologist “The competition has just been completed here in Belmopan. Young aspiring Meteorologist has just been determined for 2007 and the winner is Lexia Simmons a first former from St. Catherine’s Academy. Second prize winner is Herlinda Martinez from Belmopan Baptist High School and the third prize is Corey Dawson from Belize Friends High School in Belize City. The competition was very tight we are very happy that we had excellent presentations from all of the participants.” Williams said the competition had participation from eight schools from the Corozal, Belize, and Cayo Districts. He told us what the prizes for the competition were. Rudolph Williams: Senior Hydrologist “The winner Ms. Simmons from St. Catherine’s Academy will receive a new computer and a digital camera and a education tour to the open day at the National Meteorological Service on the 23 of March for her class. The new computer is courtesy of Global Technologies and the digital camera is courtesy of GS-COM. The educational tour is courtesy of T Line bus line. The second prize for Herlinda Martinez is a cellular phone courtesy of Smart and Mr. Dawson will be receiving a three hundred dollar savings account plus educational packages.” Senior Hydrologist at the National Meteorological Service, Rudolph Williams
