The Belize Math Olympiad came to its conclusion today in Belmopan. We have this report from Karen Coote. Karen Coote, Love FM Reporter “The first ever championship of the Belize Math Olympiad sponsored by Social Security Board Belize concluded at the University Of Belize Gymnasium in the City of Belmopan. First place went to the Central B division champion St. John’s College, represented by Eric Alamina and Christopher Waight. Second place went to Belize Christian Academy representing the Western region Nemrita Balani and Ronald Rumpel and the third place winners Orange Walk Technical High representing the North A region represented by Roberto Gongora and Dorita Sanchez. For coming in first, St. John’s College received gold medals as well as a computer and trophies. St John’s School received a projector and second place winners Belize Christian Academy received medals and trophies. Orange Walk Technical High School for their third place finish received trophies as well as prizes courtesy of the Social Security Board. All other participants received certificates and educational packages courtesy of Social Security Board.”
