REGIONAL TRADE UNIONIST IN BELIZE IN CONNECTION WITH ESSENTIAL SERVICE TRIBUNAL

Regional trade unionist George DePeana is in Belize. DePeana’s visit is in connection with the essential service tribunal established by the Minister of Labour to settle the dispute between Belize Communications Workers Union and Belize Telecommunications Limited regarding the termination of three B-T-L workers. A release from the National Trade Union Congress of Belize says DePeana has dedicated forty five years to trade unionism and is currently the general Secretary of the Caribbean Congress of Labour. The release ends by saying the N-T-U-C-B and its affiliate B-C-W-U looks forward to the positive contribution of DePeanna to the preparation for the upcoming tribunal process.
