MISS BELIZE IS REINA DE LA COSTA MAYA 2007

The annual Costa Maya Festival began last night in San Pedro Ambergris Caye. Mario Lopez reports.

“The 16^th Edition of the La Costa Maya Festival got underway last night  with La Reina De La Costa Maya International Pageant.The participation of six beautiful contestants representing the Mundo Mayan World were at their best.The show had four segments of the competition in which all contestants competed in costume,swimwear,evening gown and questions.At the end of the night the judges had an awesome responsibility in choosing Miss Costa Maya 2007 and Maria Jeffrey,representing our hometown Belize,came out on top as the new Reina De La Costa Maya.We spoke to her briefly.”

“I don’t know which words can describe how I feel right now.I’m so surprised,so excited,so happy.”

“Let’s talk about the competition.Was it very challenging?”

“Yes,of course it was challenging.We had six beautiful contestants,very smart and I had a lot of competition and so I am really happy.”

“Hello Belize!I brought home the crown.”

“That was a brief interview with Maria.She was all excited last night.First runner up and winner of National Costume was Miss Mexico.Second runner up was Daniela Lacayo representing the country of Nicaragua.The show continues tonight with the big opening ceremonies and cultural activities with a performance from Belize and Mexico.Also performing will be Mario Barrios,a solo artist from Guatemala and Las Chicas from Honduras.The activities continue until Sunday.Reporting from La Isla Bonita for Love FM News,I am Mario Lopez.”
