MINISTER VISITS NATIONAL YOUTH EMPOWERMENT CAMP

Minister of Youth, Sports and Defense, Rodwell Ferguson visited the national youth empowerment camp at the weekend in Toledo. Karina Mahung reports.

“During the visit at the campsite at Machaca Outreach Centre,Minister Rodwell Ferguson,in addressing the sum 200 youth leaders,says that he was very impressed with the overall objective of the camp and the active participation of the youth leaders in the educational,cultural,sporting,recreational,social and religious activities of the camp.In support of the camp theme ‘Keep the End in Mind,Believe in Belize’,Minister Ferguson challenged the youth leaders to love Belize as patriotic citizens and encourage them to contribute positively to the continued development of their respective communities as a follow up to what they have all learnt during the eight day camp.The minister’s visit also included a forum with the campers,during which discussions focused on common youth related problems and concerns,and entertainment by participants highlighting poems,music,drama and dance.Minister Rodwell Ferguson also visited the youth leaders during their Saturday voluntary community service clean up projects in the villages of Elridgeville,Cattle Landing and Barranco.During his visit to the National Youth Empowerment Leadership Camp in Toledo,Minister Rodwell Ferguson was accompanied by Director of Youth for the Future Lindsworth Castillo and Camp Director’s Youth Empowerment Officer Ulysses Guy and Harry Arzu.Reporting for Love FM News,Karina Mahung,Punta Gorda.”
