Today Prime Minister Said Musa continued on his national consultation tour. He visited communities in the Belize Rural North Constituency. His first stop was at Maskall Village for the inauguration of a multi-purpose building which was constructed by the Government of Belize. The building will serve as a community center, auditorium, hurricane shelter and as classrooms and cafeteria for the Maskall village school. The Prime Minister also visited the Santana village school where he promised that his government will continue to work to expand the school. The school opened in 1938 but was recently remodeled by the government of Belize and the U-S Government through its southern command in 1997. Following this the Prime Minister met with chairman of Rockstone Pond, Winston Herbert and chairman of Lucky Strike, Oscar Pollard senior. The leader of the country then commissioned a water system that will provide potable water to the residents of both villages. Prime Minister Said Musa noted that a water project for the Belize River Valley area and funded through the Caribbean Development Bank should start by early next year. He also visited the on-going work along the old northern highway. This afternoon the Prime Minister visited the communities of Burrell Boom and others along the River Valley area.
