Police in Orange Walk are looking for a man in connection with an incident that left a teenager without his left thumb. 16 year old Rosendo Murillo Junior reported to police that around 8:30 last night he was walking in AugustPineRidgeVillage when he was approached by Rony Quintanilla. Murillo told police that Quintanilla inflicted several chop wounds to his hand with a machete. As a result, Murillo lost his left thumb. Police are now looking for Quintanilla in connection with the incident.

Thieves made off with almost 36 thousand worth of cash and items from the home of 61-year-old Pearl Stuart. On Saturday thieves went into Stuart’s home on Scallop Drive, Coral Grove and a number of items were stolen. These include a black Compaq flat screen computer, a 24  Karat gold Seiko wrist watch, three men wrist watches, a Karaoke machine with microphones, assorted liquor, 10 silver color electric shaver, two Nokia cellular phones and a black wallet containing a thousand U-S dollars, a thousand Mexican pesos and three hundred Singapore dollars. Police say the thieves entered the home by damaging the lock on the burglar bar door and a wooden door.

A lone robber made off with over 14 hundred dollars in cash and items after they broke into a woman’s home. Yesenia Rojas, owner of Belize Foam Factory reported to police that she was at her house on the Western Highway around 10:30 yesterday morning when she heard her daughter scream. Rojas reported that she was about to call the police when she felt an object being placed on her lower back. Fearing for her life Rojas handed over her purse containing $300.00. The dark complexion man also got away with three cell phones. Police are looking for one suspect.

Two Belize City men have been charged with drug trafficking in the Cayo District. Last night just after seven o’clock Police say they were on mobile patrol on the Western Highway when they conducted a search on 33-year-old Kirk Ramclam and 25-year-old Denvoy Nixon both of Police Street in Belize City. Police found two transparent plastic bags containing 106 point two grams of cannabis.
