38 year old taxi driver Mark Tillett was today freed of a charge of unlawful carnal knowledge in the court of Justice Adolph Lucas. Crown Counsel Grant Schorn today entered a nolle prosequi indicating that he cannot proceed because the 13 year old complainant could not be located. The incident was reported in August 2005 and is said to have occurred near the farmers market here in Belize City.

In other news from the Magistrate’s Court, 38 year old George Banner, an Alliance Security Guard of an Oleander Street address was charged with burglary when he appeared in magistrate’s Court today. Banner pleaded not guilty and Magistrate Rachel Montejo offered him bail ion the amount of 5 thousand dollars. Hubert Sankey, Manager of Alliance Security reported to police that Banner was stationed at Buccaneer Landing near mile 4 and a half on the Western Highway on October 28 when he broke into the establishment and took an assortment of liquor and sodas and a hand held radio that was assigned to him by the company. His case was adjourned until December 22.
