A meeting between Toledo and Guatemalan stakeholders was recently held in Guatemala. Paul Mahung reports.

“The Belize Tourism Industry Association Toledo initiative was to stimulate and increase world and intra regional tourist visit to high potential regional market areas such as Livingston in Guatemala and Livingston in Belize. The one day meeting held on Friday October 31st was held at Hotel Dia Caribe in Livingston Guatemala. The meeting also highlighted presentations and discussions on what Toledo and Livingston Tourism offers to tourist visiting both destinations. The delegates were also taken on a quick tour of Livingston and did sight visitations to some of the major hotels and tour operators in Livingston as well as a visit to Rio Dulce, Itzabal. Participants at the meeting included Toledo Tourism stakeholders from Cotton Tree Lodge, Requena’s Charter, Sun Creek Lodge and other representatives from BTIA Toledo. From Livingston Tourism stakeholders included participants from Hotel Dia Caribe, Hotel Rio Dulce, and Happy Fish Travels among others. Chairperson of the BTIA Toledo, Bruno Kuppinger say that the meeting in Guatemala between Toledo and Livingston Tourism Stakeholders was very fruitful and educational cross border experience beneficial to all parties involved as there is surely a lot in tourist attractions that Toledo and Livingston can offer local and international tourist.”
