GARIFUNA SETTLEMENT DAY ACTIVITIES CONTINUES COUNTRYWIDE

Activities leading up to Garifuna Settlement Day is being held in Communities across the country. Activities continued today in Belize City with a children’s rally held at the House of Culture in Belize City. In Dangriga, Delille Academy is hosting a cultural extravaganza which doubled as a fundraiser for the construction of a much needed fence for the school compound.  In San Pedro activities will begin tomorrow with a drumming competition and drum off at the San Pedro Central Park. Other activities include the Battle of the Drum tomorrow in Punta Gorda and a stream of cultural performances in other Garifuna communities. Activities being held in southern Belize will be carried live on Love FM during coverage of Southern Tour 2008 which begins tomorrow in Punta Gorda.
