A Wet Chester at OW Carnival,

If you were in Orange Walk Town for the Carnival Road March on the 21st, you might have notice the most famous police officer in Belize, Chester Williams. The Police Commissioner got wet, and dry and then wet again because of the weather on that day. And while the rain may have prevented some to attend the parade, the Commissioner was determined to ensure that there was safety. We asked him about it. 

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “Like I said to my officers I could have stayed in the comfort of my home dry and monitored the carnival and gave instruction from there but we are in this together and not because I am at the top of the department mans that I must not be out with my officers and execute whatever tasks needs to be executed. I believe that my presence out there and my leadership was a motivation to the officers to know that you know if the commissioner can be here in the rain with us then why can’t we? And as much as yes I was wet and dry again and whatever it was a good experience for me being out there with my officers and getting the job done. The love I got from the people in Orange Walk was overwhelming I must say I didn’t know I was that popular but….”
