34-year-old, Jared Avery Ranguy, the man accused of murdering his mother, sister, and stepfather, returned to court. Ranguy has a new date set for trial and it is possible that he will need to assign another attorney to represent him in the triple murder case. Today Justice Ricardo Sandcroft order a new trial date for June 26, 2023, and told Ranguy, who said he had not spoken to his attorney since his last court appearance, that his trial will commence on that day with or without his attorney, SC Godfrey Smith. The Judge also stated that the court will appoint a backup attorney for him, and that attorney is set to be Senior Counsel, Simeon Sampson. Ranguy is the suspect in the November 25, 2012, triple murder of his mom, sister, and step-father which occurred on Marage Road in Ladyville. The victims of the murder were Karen Skeen-Vellos, her husband, Richard Vellos, and her daughter, Teena Skeen. At the crime scene, several blood-stained items were found in the attic of the house including a nine-millimeter firearm suspected to be the weapon used in the killing.
