ADO Still Won’t Be Coming Into Belize

ADO Still Won’t Be Coming Into Belize

And then there is an issue with ADO. Contrary to reports that Mexican bus company, ADO, will be resuming runs into Belize as of this month, the Minister of Transport, Rodwell Ferguson, says this is not so. When previously asked about his discussions with the Ministry of Transport in Guatemala and Mexico, he replied that he made it clear that for a deal to be made, the benefit needs to be mutual. Minister Ferguson reiterated that he maintained this stance, even taking into consideration the loss that the tourism industry faces because of this.

Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Transportation:While we are complaining about ADO coming in we have to check on the tourism side how much money tourism is losing from ADO not coming in. But I maintain my stance that it must be reciprocal. If they come we must go to a certain part of Mexico so I maintain that.”
