Assailants rob and assault Cayo businessman

Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that happened early this morning in Cayo District.  Love News has learned that it happened at Wes-Bel Produce, located at Mile 65 on the George Price Highway. The manager, 31-year-old Randall Friesen was opening his business this morning when he heard the footsteps as if someone were running to the loading area door. It was when he turned around to check what the noise was about, he saw as many as four masked assailants approach him. Friesen was beaten by the men. After they beat him up, the men stole an undisclosed amount of money. Friesen was able to muster the strength to get up and get into his office and locked himself in. The robbers tried to get into the office but their efforts were unsuccessful. It was shortly after they left. Friesen says he called the police several times but the numbers were not working. It is suspected that the assailants waylaid Friesen to commit the crime. They are being sought at this time.
