Belize among top destinations to visit in 2023, says CNN

Belize is one of the top destinations to visit in 2023. That’s according to CNN Travel. The international news organisation’s travel arm says, citing figures from the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, that international tourism was expected to reach pre-pandemic levels by the end of 2022. Some areas have recently reached up to 90 percent of their arrivals in 2019. The country is listed as 23 places to visit this year, listed among the likes of Brazil, Greece, Laos, Egypt, Switzerland, and some cities in the United States. The article says in part “…But Belize offers way more than its enticing islands. Lush rainforests, cave networks, winding rivers, and rich Mayan archaeological sites invite exploration in a country that’s had an evolving sustainable tourism master plan since 2012” End quote. Some of the attractions they recommend are, of course, Ambergris Caye, home to San Pedro Town, the Great Blue Home, and archaeological reserves such as Altun Ha.
