Belize City Man Went Missing on Private Caye

Thirty-one-year-old Elrick Vairez has been reported missing. The Belize City resident was last seen on Sunday, February 19. Investigators say that Vairez was last seen walking on a private island about 8 miles north of Belize City.  Official police reports say that Vairez and 32-year-old Douglas Gill left Belize City on a boat named “Young Lion” on Friday afternoon. Police Commissioner Chester Williams shared more details.
