In addition to the air patrols and the drone personnel, the Belize Coast Guard will be signing an agreement later this month which will see two patrol boats added to their fleet. According to Rear Admiral Bennett, this will be done through a partnership with CABEiI.
RADM Elton Bennett, BCG Commandant: “Within a month and a half from now we’ll be going overseas along with the team from the Ministry of Economic Development and CABEI representative in order to sign the contract that will commence the acquisition of those two patrol boats. And again that’s a new dimension that the Belize Coast Guard will be going into. Being able to project sea power from just along the littorals to getting out to our territorial seas and well into our exclusive economic zone with those two patrol boats. So two big things that will be on our agenda for the next twelve months air domain and then increasing our blue water capability. So those are two big things that we discussed at the Senior Officers Conference.”
