Belize joins Caribbean Community to strengthen national immunization program post-pandemic

Belize has joined the Caribbean Community in working to bolster the percentage of immunizations administered across the region. Last week, Minster of Health and Wellness, Kevin Bernard, signed the “Declaration of Nassau: Reinvigorating the National Immunization Programmes of the Caribbean”. The declaration was ratified at the 29th Special Meeting of the Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD). Minister Bernard says the goal of the regional effort is to strengthen the country’s national immunization program to return to pre-pandemic levels, or even higher.

The declaration was signed on 26 April in the Bahamas.
