Belize Remains Malaria Free

Belize is aiming to be certified as a malaria-free country by the World Health Organization (WHO). The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Chief of Operations, Kim Bautista, explains that there have been no reported cases since 2018. Certification would help improve tourism and the country’s overall image. The government’s efforts to eliminate the disease through preventive measures, including targeted spraying and education programs, have contributed to this success.
