Belize to Be Represented at the World Boxing Organization Minimum Weight Championships in Costa Rica

The Belize Boxing Development Council (BBDC) will be participating in the upcoming World Boxing Organization Minimum Weight Championships. The one-day event will be held in Costa Rica at the end of March where, Belizean Representative, Jessica Basulto, will be going up against a seasoned champion, Costa Rican representative, Yokasta Valle, a three-division world champion. Basulto is a Mexican-born straw-weight boxer and will be representing Belize in this tournament. The President and Commissioner of the BBDC, Javier Romero, says Basulta will be going up against significant odds because entered this competition on short three weeks’ notice when a full boxing camp is usually six to eight weeks. Love News had a chance to speak with Basulto as she is currently training in Merida, Mexico to prepare for this fight.
