Even through the struggle of Covid-19 our nurses have persevered. Now that the pandemic has been declared to be over by the world health organization, the nurses have gathered for the first time since Covid-19. Chief of nurse officer in Ministry of Health and Wellness makes point of the multiple activities across the country to celebrate the hard work done for those nurses in the healthcare system.
Lizett Bell, Deputy Director of Hospital Services: “We’re able to really celebrate the nurses this year. In 2020 it was the year of the nurse and the midwife however you know that was the year when we had the pandemic. So since the pandemic this is the first time we’re able to gather and I can see that the nurses really appreciate the different activities. For example last night was our long service award ceremony for those who have worked in the service for twenty plus years and thirty plus years and they really appreciated the recognition that we provided as the ministry. For those nurses who are not here at the conference the different regions are having a special luncheon for those nurses since today is actually nurses day.”
