Students at the House of Shotokan Karate Academy in Belize City returned home with accolades at the Mexico Taekwondo Championships held in Chetumal on Saturday, October 15. One of the students is Peter Stoyshich (stoy-sich) and we spoke to him while he was training today at the dojo.
The event, which was organised by the Eagle Park Taekwondo School, was staged at the Parque del Queso. Students, both children and adults, from the House of Shotokan participated. Karate Master, Shihan Kelly was enthralled by the result.
In addition to Stoyshich, Ampree Swasey, Cosmo Lam, Coyichi Lam and Jamir Ayala also picked up awards. Kelly says they are already gearing up for the taekwondo and karate championships, slated for Mexico and the U.S. next year.
