Belize’s First STEAM Secondary School Set to Open in September

In less than four months, Belize’s first secondary school dedicated to STEAM education, an approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics, will open its doors. The Itz’at STEAM Academy is slated to launch in September this year with a cohort of 75 students. The secondary school will feature a modern science lab, a digital media studio, and a maker space to prepare students for careers and further studies in the area of STEAM. Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Dr. Louis Zabaneh, says that the transformative project is running smoothly and receiving meaningful input from professionals trained in STEAM education.
