Belize’s lobster and conch industry to be impacted by Hurricane Lisa

The destruction left behind by Hurricane Lisa is still impacting municipalities in the Belize District, including the Belize Rural South constituency. The storm carved a path of damage throughout fishing communities in the Central and Northern districts. Minister of Blue Economy and Area Representative for Belize Rural South Andre Perez says that a significant number of fishers suffered damage to their fishing gear and vessels. According to him, the lobster and conch industry will be negatively impacted as a result.
