BSCFA Protest in Belmopan Meets Counter-Protest

The Belize Sugar Cane Farmers Association (BSCFA) held a peaceful demonstration outside the National Assembly of Belize in Belmopan. More than 260 members of the association participated to urge the Government of Belize to establish a commission of inquiry into the Belize Sugar Industries Limited/ American Sugar Refinery Group. The BSCFA is calling for a commercial agreement that will benefit their over 3,000 farmer members. Reporter Giovanna Moguel headed out west and brings us the following story.
